While he isn’t caught for stealing, Fergus does eventually lose a hand and Jamie upholds his promise. When Claire returns, she still cares for Fergus and he is her and Jamie’s adopted son. Then there is Marsali, a stepdaughter to Jamie.
Near the beginning of season two, Fergus loses a hand after an unfortunate altercation with a group of bloodthirsty redcoats. Thanks to his injury, it makes sense to leave him out of most action scenes, as a missing extremity definitely puts him at a disadvantage.

So much so that a vocal subsection of the show’s fans want nothing more than for the two to live out their romantic candlelit courtship offscreen. But Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe are not together in real life—in fact, Balfe is a married woman.
Jamie and Claire went on to have another daughter Brianna Fraser (Sophie Skelton), who came back through the stones to be reunited with her parents. The Highlander mentioned Brianna had red hair like her sister Faith after Claire showed him photos of their child in season three when the lovers were reunited.
Claire, pregnant with Brianna goes back through the stones on April 16, 1746 and reappears in Inverness in 1948, still expecting her first child with Jamie. Twenty years go by before Claire travels again, but in 1968 she goes through the stones for a third time to seek out her lost love Jamie.
Marsali turns to Murtagh for help on Outlander Season 4, Episode 11. She’d rather Fergus do something dangerous that she supports than do nothing at all. … Marsali is there for better or for worse. She knew life would be hard, and she is there for her husband every step of the way.
Drums of Autumn
In July 1767, Fergus leaves North Carolina to fetch Marsali and their first-born child Germain from Jamaica. They come to Fraser’s Ridge in the summer of 1768. In September 1770, Marsali gives birth to their second child, a daughter named Joan.
Claire didn’t know anything about Jamie’s son. Lord John Grey shows her a miniature, explaining Jamie has a copy of it (and that’s what she saw in the previous chapter), and tells Claire the story of when Jamie asked him to care for Willie. … Claire is surprised. She didn’t even recognize him.
In book six, Claire and Jamie’s adventures continue to unfold in the Colonies. But in the seventh novel, An Echo in the Bone, they travel back to Scotland to visit Jenny and Ian.
Claire chooses Marsali as her apprentice
We physicians, we learn by practicing on the dead,” Claire tells her. “And I think you would be a good apprentice. Now I’ve seen you butchering. You know how to use a knife and you understand the parts of an animal and what they’re for.
Germain is able to time travel and it’s through him that the gene passes onto Fergus–apparently Fergus can time travel.
Jenny meets Brianna Randall Fraser for the first time at Lallybroch, when the girl travels into the 18th century to search for her parents. Jenny is delighted at seeing that Jamie fathered a daughter as they had never expected him to have children, and marvels at Brianna likeness to him.
The truth about Malva’s pregnancy is revealed in the books and it was not Jamie who had an affair with her. … He had been sexually abusing her since she was a child and in order to hide the real father’s identity, Malva started sleeping with other men.
