Season 8. Ghost charges alongside the Dothraki. Shortly before the Battle of Winterfell, Ghost stands on the battlements with Jon, Edd, and Sam. He is later seen alongside the strike team on the battlefield beside Jorah Mormont, as they charge the first wave of wights but is not seen for the rest of the battle.
In a scene that lasts for less than half a second during the trailer, you can see him standing amongst the soldiers at Winterfell the day after the battle. Ghost is alive!

The fact they had Jon leave Ghost behind to signify he was no longer a Stark is such bs. his mother was lyanna stark and he was raised with the stark family. suddenly finding out he was half targaryen doesn’t erase his roots.

Besides Nymeria, Ghost was the only other direwolf to survive the events of Game of Thrones. Despite being the runt, Ghost grew to be the biggest direwolf of the pack. He was with Jon during his time with the Night’s Watch and followed his owner Beyond the Wall.
Ghost is a male in the comics but he has never even been given a name and his maleness is not crucial to his identity.
If you recall, each Stark sibling received a wolf pup back in the first season, and Jon’s was named Ghost. The albino wolf has stuck by his owner’s side unconditionally. When Jon died and was brought back to life by Melisandre, Ghost slept beside him the whole time.
Game of Thrones finally acknowledged Ghost as the very good dog he is. After fan outrage over their recent parting, Jon Snow and Ghost got a touching reunion in Game of Thrones’ series finale.
Ghost is described as the largest of the Stark direwolves. They’re all still adolescent direwolves (2 years), so they may have not even reached their full size yet!
