We never actually see inside the box – but swiftly find out that it contains the head of Mills’s wife, Tracy (Gwyneth Paltrow), whom Doe murdered before handing himself in. The killer then explains that his own sin was “envy” – he claims to have been covetous of Mills’s life and family.
Victor was attacked and kidnapped by John Doe, who later strapped him to a bed and inflicted countless injuries on him, even severing his hand.

Se7en ends on a twist where serial killer John Doe reveals he’s murdered Tracy (Gweneth Paltrow), the pregnant wife of detective Mills (Brad Pitt). … He wants Mills to kill him, thus making the detective Wrath, the final sin in Doe’s design of a perfect seven kills.
Place one of the items you found in the box and have your blindfolded participants, in 20-second increments, take turns reaching in and feeling the objects. They cannot remove the item from the box or scrape it along the sides. They can simply hold it and move it around in their hand.
If you’ve seen “Se7en,” you know how chilling the final scene is. The unimaginable ending made Brad Pitt’s “What’s in the box?” line infamous, thanks to a creepy special delivery his detective character receives. Screenwriter Andrew Kevin Walker told The Hollywood Reporter the ending made it into the film by accident.Jan 15, 2017
