White or Cream
White is a no-brainer when you’re styling navy. I love the idea of pairing a navy dress with everyday white classic Converse sneakers. White shoes also are perfect to wear all the way through summer.
What color nail polish goes with a navy blue dress? Navy is one of the most versatile shades of blue. Technically navy is a neutral color, which means you can pair it with any other neutral (like gray, white, black, brown or beige) as well as a whole load of fun colors like mustard, hot pink, cherry red and orange.
Blue shoes can pair with all sorts of outfits (apart from black pants or formal outfits), especially if you wear neutral colors like khaki, grey, white, beige, brown, tan, camel, etc. It’s also a rule to accessorize your outfit with something blue when wearing blue shoes.
White, off-white, or cream with navy has always been a classic combination. Opaque cream tights or sheer white with a subtle pattern would look great with a navy dress. A pair of brown knee-high boots will keep this outfit from feeling too little-girly.
The Basics: Black, Beige, and Grey
Black, beige, and grey shoes go with anything. Since they are all neutrals, you can wear these colors to offset a more vibrant outfit. Of course, with these neutrals, you can either mix and match or keep them in a similar tonal family.
Black shoes pair well with navy suits, particularly the darker shades. The classic, dress shoe shade is ideal for dressing up navy suits and making them appear more sophisticated.
Nail polish is authorized, but only using colors that the Navy calls “conservative and inconspicuous.” Wearing “white, black, red, yellow, orange, green, purple, grey, glitter, striped or any sort of pattern/decorative nail polish” is not allowed. The long-championed color of blue remains unaddressed.
White for Purity, Gold for Wealth; Purple, Violet, and Blue for Royalty and Piety. This gallery shows pictures from the 16th-19th centuries of high ranking or royal people featured in these colors.
Gold pairs well with navy blue because of the way the dark color of your dress creates a chic backdrop for glitzy and bright accessories. Unlike silver that complements your dress’ color, gold is designed to stand out from your dark dress color.
The old rule no longer applies, you CAN wear navy with black! Pair a navy dress or skirt with black tights and shoes and the look is quite fresh and modern. With this look, I treated the navy skirt as if it were any other color, and had black tights and booties anchor it.
As we all know, a stiletto is not just a shoe; it’s an attitude. How to Style Them: A classic pair of black or nude stilettos are all you need to wear for office, an evening party or a casual outing. They go with anything and everything, that’s how versatile they are.
Black and blue often get a bad rap because they can be so close in shade that it’s sometimes difficult to tell them apart, not to mention that wearing a black shirt with navy pants can come off looking a little drab. … Contrast: When you’re wearing navy with black, you should try to play up the differences in tone.
