To do it in DA when you submit text, at the beginning of the sentence, if you want it in italics type < i > (without the spaces) and in the end of the sentence type < / i >(without the spaces.) same goes for bold, just put “B” where the “I” is and without the spaces.
The majority of the text formatting on dA is done through HTML tags. A ‘tag’ has angular brackets with some text inside which corresponds with a certain function.
There are HTML tags which can be used to add a link to something everywhere on deviantART. The standard link will show the first part of the URL truncated by an ellipsis ( http://deviantart.com/devia… ).

Journals on DeviantArt are your personal blogging space. You can use them as a diary, as a platform to speak your mind, to become an art curator and put great things on display for your watchers, or any other purpose you can imagine for them.

I believe sta.sh writer has been deleted/removed entirely as an option/button within sta.sh. So you can click on it and generate a brand new doc via Writer anymore. The only way you can still access it is if you edit a draft you have in stash or a literature document that was created before Eclipse rolled out.
Use Sta.sh Writer or Submit>Enter Text to post your literature to DeviantArt. … Use the Literature gallery for stories, poems, scripts, and works of non-fiction where you consider the writing a piece of craftwork.
