The term samurai was originally used to denote the aristocratic warriors (bushi), but it came to apply to all the members of the warrior class that rose to power in the 12th century and dominated the Japanese government until the Meiji Restoration in 1868.
I think its fair to say Red Mage is probably the easiest (DPS) class in the game. Samurai isn’t really hard either, but I can agree that the skill names turned me off from it a bit. You just have to associate hotkeys with purpose in your head and go from there.
In a vacuum, Ninja is inarguably a contender for the best FFXIV DPS Job. Period. Trick Attack is an all-time classic and highly in-demand ability that defines this Job’s utility in most endgame content. It grants five percent extra damage against a single target (e.g. a raid boss) from all sources.
A Marauder can become a Warrior once he/she has reached levl 30 and leveled 15 as a Gladiator. A Marauder may also choose to be a Dragoon by way of leveling the Marauder class to level 15 or higher and switching to the Lancer class and leveling it to level 30.
They don’t reap the typical benefits from daily roulettes either, so they can be difficult to level up. They are a difficult class to master as well, though it is fair to say that once you have gotten the hang of them they can be considered to be at least easier to play as compared to other jobs.
In order to unlock the Gunbreaker Job, you do have to be at least level 60. If you want to be a Gunbreaker you don’t need to start all the way back at level 1, but in exchange for that you have to play Final Fantasy XIV for quite a while before you can try it out.

Since Dark Knight starts at level 30 (although unlocked if you have a level 50 character), there are a few things you have to “catch up to”… Namely, your Skills, Rotation, and to a lesser extent, Gear.
The Dark Knight is the true “pick up and play” tank in FFXIV. The flashy, edgy warrior of darkness only has one damage combo for single— targets (plus a two-hit combo for groups, like everybody else). Most of the rest of their damage comes passively.
RDM is dps, those are merely party/support utility, it has no ‘healing role’ whatsoever.

BLM isn’t hard at all, some will say it’s actually the easiest to play, but I think Bard is way easier considering there’s no rotation for bards and their mobility is amazing. As for points you’ll want as much Int as possible.
Head to the Gladiator’s Guild in Ul’dah. Once there, go into the back room to find an old man on the floor. Speak with him and after a lengthy conversation he will make you a samurai!
